ANGIOMAS

What is an Angiomas

An angioma is a common, benign (i.e. non-cancerous), skin growth made up of blood vessels. The most common angioma is a cherry angioma, also known as a Campbell de Morgan spot. They are most common in adults, with the number of angiomas increasing from about the age of 40. Angiomas Can develop on any body surface but are most common on the trunk.

How do we remove Angiomas at Persona?

Angiomas are removed by Diathermy. Diathermy treatment, is a commonly used procedure which uses an electrical current to produce heat.  The heat is passed through a small fine tip needle which is used to cauterise (seal or coagulate) tissue and blood vessels.
