Lipoma Removal

What is a Lipoma?
Lipoma are benign fatty growths which can occur anywhere on the body. Therefore this form of growth can appear in various sizes. Lipoma is not seen as life threatening, but can often cause discomfort or embarrassment for people with obvious growths. They commonly grow in the fatty layers of the skin, they can generally be found on the neck, chest, shoulders, back, arms and thighs. Lipoma can sometimes grow inside of the body, and you may not be aware they are there.
How do we remove lipoma at Persona?
Lipomas are surgically removed under local anaesthetic via an incision to the skin to cut out and remove the lipoma. The area will then be stitched and dressed and you will be required to return to the clinic to have the stitches removed 1-2 weeks later.
